Wondering just how much of a yield you can expect with average yield seeds? Unfortunately, there’s no simple answer to just how much usable cannabis a single marijuana plant can produce. That is because there are a number of variables you have to consider.
What is an average yield?
Light is one of the most important factors when growing marijuana. Indoor growers have the ability to cultivate about one gram of cannabis per watt of light, which is about 0.035274 ounces of weed.
In other words, if you have a 400-watt HPS lamp as your light source, you can potentially produce 400 grams of cannabis with average yield seeds. That translates to a whopping 14 ounces of usable marijuana. If your grow room is equipped with 1,200 watts of lighting, your crop can produce 1.2 kilograms or 42 ounces of cannabis. However, you must also have the right nutrients, air quality, water quality and quantity and other growing equipment.
Using average yield seeds to grow cannabis outdoors can gain you yields of 500 grams, or 17.5 ounces, per marijuana plant, in perfect outdoor conditions. In this case, space is your friend, and it is a necessity. However, many outdoor growers plant their seeds in containers, to better control nutrients and water, and the onset of diseases and pests.
There are times when average yield seeds produce less yield than expected. Often, in these cases, the cannabis is greater in other areas. These may include potency levels, taste or specific THC or CBD levels. Either way, our average yield seeds can produce high-quality bud, with very decent yields.
