Critical Mass Strain Origins
This strain is an indica dominant cross between the very powerful Skunk #1 and Afghani Indica. Much like any strong Indica, it’s known to produce a heavy-duty euphoria. The plant may have gotten its name from the “critically massive” buds it creates, which are very heavy and dense.
The information in this video is from the normal feminized strain.
Growing Critical Mass CBD Seeds
This is one resilient plant, which is one of the main reasons it’s commonly grown by newbies and amateurs. However, savvy growers appreciate its reliable yield. It’s a consistent plant that requires very little maintenance for high yields. When grown properly, the plants produce buds with “critically” massive sizes.
These are feminized seeds. Female plants, contrary to male plants, are the ones that actually produce weed. They start flowering when they receive less light per day, i.e., in the Fall, or when you manipulate the light cycle indoors.
Critical Mass CBD Plants
These CBD rich plants will grow quite large and produce “critically” huge and heavy buds. Because of this, your branches may droop while struggling to support their buds’ massive sizes. If this happens, simply create makeshift support systems to support your branches and keep them from snapping. Trust us, those humongous sized buds are worth the extra work and time.
As a CBD strain, the plants will have a smaller yield than standard varieties of this strain. However, because it is a Critical Mass strain, the yield will still be quite good.
Much like most strains, Critical Mass CBD seeds produce the best results when grown outdoors. However, these feminized seeds will grow really well indoors too.
When growing this strain outdoors, treat your plant to a Mediterranean climate. Watch for frost because it can kill them fairly quickly. This strain likes it warm, but not too wet, so keep your plants dry so that mold doesn’t develop. If you choose to grow this strain indoors, recreate a Mediterranean climate, and maintain the temperature and humidity levels as best as possible.

Flowering & Yield
On average, this strain flowers very large buds in about 8-9 weeks. If you are growing this strain outdoors, you should be ready for harvesting around mid-September.
Critical Mass CBD seeds produce decent yields of 4-6 ounces of usable weed every 3X3 feet of indoor growing space. When growing outdoors, expect slightly higher yields, depending on climate conditions.
