When it comes to all-time classic flavors, orange has to be at the top of the list. Its taste and aroma are truly distinct, touching the lives of people everywhere. And, in the world of cannabis, the same rings true, especially when it comes to the slightly indica leaning marijuana strain known as Orange Bud.
Technically, this cannabis strain has nothing to do with the actual citrus fruit. It was actually given the name due to its buds being covered in bright orange hairs. And, much like the relaxing, calming feeling that comes from a cold glass of OJ on a hot summer day, this bud provides the same feeling.
Research points to California as the origin of the Orange Bud strain. It seems to be a backcrossing result of one of the world’s premier cannabis strains, Skunk No. 1. Others have said it’s a crossbreed of two different lines of Skunk. This award-winning strain of marijuana took 2nd place in the 1994 High Times Cannabis Cup Bio category.
Orange bud delivers an instant euphoric high that comes with a THC content of 16% to 23%. It also offers some powerful medicinal properties to medical cannabis patients, thanks to its high CBD level of 0.35%.
Origin of Orange Bud
Orange Bud is a weed strain that traces its origin to the early 1980s, possibly in California. This strain of cannabis has grown its popularity ever since it was first bred by Dutch Passion. Today, it still remains popular more than 30 years after it was bred from two pure strains of the skunk family.
Since this strain of marijuana was developed, it has remained popular and is one of the most sought-after cannabis strains in Dutch coffee shops. This is because of its numerous medical uses, great taste, sweet aroma and minimal side effects.

After just a few hits, you’re in a daydream-state of mind. You’ll find yourself in a euphoria that makes you feel sensual and sexual. This strain has a way of heightening your sex drive, making sex feel close to tantric for the user.
After using Orange Bud, users are typically left happy and more focused. In rare cases, this weed results in dry mouth, known as cottonmouth.
